Kelly Link
So I've been reading a lot of this short story writer Kelly Link lately. I think she's fantastic. I had to read one of her short stories my last semester in college and picked up the collection it was in over the summer at The Strand on a whim. I'm not even usually into super fanciful work like this, but there is something really tender and strong about the way she writes that just gets me. Yesterday I bought a copy of Stranger Things Happen and am almost on the last story right now.
The more I read the more I like her, so I did a bit of online research and found out the two books of her stories I have read are available as printable PDFs online for FREE. In particular I would recommend reading "Travels with the Snow Queen" from Stranger Things Happen. I also quite like "Lull" from Magic For Beginners as well, though my favorite story from that collection is not included in the PDF.
