White Light, White Heat

I am in a show that opens this weekend inaugurating the new location of Mahan gallery in Columbus, OH. The opening reception is this Saturday, December 1, from 6-10 pm.

"Because of its indefinite range of meaning, white has long been cautiously handled in the realm of fine art. White Light/White Heat is meant to test white's contemporary conceptual limits. Artists turn what is commonly known as the absence of color into the primary subject matter, pushing it to the forefront in an intriguing reversal of roles. The focus is to exhibit a deliberate and successful use of white within a work of art, whether for aesthetic, conceptual, or cultural meanings."
