Okay

My laptop was just stolen out of my studio.
Everything I made since I got here is lost.

They didn't even bother to take the charger or my headphones that were attached, they just ripped them out and took off. My studiomate was not even a drywall partition away listening to music at the time. Three people to a room, and my studio was not visible from the main hall. Someone had to sneak in and look around. I was gone an hour to go to my first class.

Don't feel sorry for me.
I am stronger than you think.

ouch! reminds me of when they cleaned out the lockers during summer break (even though summer classes were in session) and I lost a majority of my negatives.

oh no! that's so terrible, jessica. I can't believe that had that much gall to steal it with your studio mate in the room.

the first thing I thought was, "Jessica is going to bounce right back from this little hiccup." What's lost is lost, but to think of all the new things you'll be making today, tomorrow, and the next day... (:

Jessica,

I'm not saying this is your situation, but often when something leaves your life, perhaps it is a good thing. My friend lost just about her entire music collection on a train ride in upstate, NY. Although this is a terrible thing, I thought it might be quite freeing. She had the joy of discovering new artist, and listening in different ways.

Maybe you'll come upon greater projects soon.

I have really fallen in love your work in the past few months. Thank you for this.

Sean, its absence might really be for the better.. so far i have become much better calling my boyfriend from the states rather than just talking to him online. And thank you for your kind words.

But in the end I'm afraid the loss of all my work on it and 2000 dollars flat out sucks. It is one thing to start out fresh knowing you can collect what you lost back over time (in the case of music), but is another to have the means of collection stolen from you. But even then, is not the end all be all. I know things will be okay, but there is no way to say this loss is productive in any way.
